Red Headed woodpecker

The Red-headed woodpecker is another lifer bird for me. I wish this one had been a little closer but I was glad to see him.

On my visit to Steven C Foster State Park in southern Georgia last week I had exceptional luck finding woodpeckers and was able to find 3 lifer species that I have always wanted to find.

I found 6 species total including:

Pileated - Lifer

Red-Bellied - Lifer

Red-Headed - Lifer

Yellow-Bellied Sapsucker

Northern Flicker

Downy woodpecker.
