180515-N-DZ642-0027 MEDITERRANEAN SEA (May 15, 2018) Aviation Structural Mechanic Airman Osvaldo Sanchez, assigned to the “Fighting Checkmates” of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 211, paints landing gear on an F/A-18F Super Hornet in the hangar bay aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75). As the Carrier Strike Group 8 flag ship, Truman's support of Operation Inherent Resolve demonstrates the capability and flexibility of U.S. Naval Forces, and its resolve to eliminate the terrorist group ISIS and the threat it poses.
