U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Sonny Perdue visits Sysco facilities and participates in a signing ceremony for the Pledge to America’s Workers document, located near San Diego, in Poway, CA, on July 15, 2019

 

He is greeted by Sysco (San Diego) President Ryan Roberts, and Government Relations Director Brad Christie. Operations VP John Petrossian leads the tour.

 

Sysco sells, markets, and distributes food and non-food products to restaurants, healthcare, and educational facilities, lodging establishments, and other customers in 90 different countries. This facility features foods such as mini naan bread, diced mushrooms, fried flat potatoes, and a surface sanitizing system, services a region from Oceanside, CA, to the north, to the border with Mexico, south. This facility produces 1,000’s of products for delivery within a few days to commercial clients.

 

Pledge to America’s Workers — As part of the National Council for the American Worker, the Trump Administration is asking companies and trade groups throughout the country to sign the Pledge to America’s Workers—committing to expand programs that educate, train, and reskill American workers from high-school age to near-retirement. Since President Trump signed the Executive Order, more than 200 companies and organizations have signed the Pledge, contributing to over 9.9 million new education and training opportunities for American students and workers over the next five years.
