NEW LONDON, Conn. - U.S. Coast Guard Academy cadets read to elementary school children during Dr. Seuss Read Across America Day at West Vine Street School in Pawcatuck, Conn., March 2, 2010. For nearly 20 years, the Coast Guard has supported programs at all levels of education in order to enhance educational opportunities for students while working to enforce traditional values, personal initiative, responsibility and individual self worth.
