SCHOFIELD BARRACKS, Hawaii - Comedian Bernie McGrenahan presented his award-winning "Comedy is the Cure" routine to more than 1,070 Soldiers, civilians and contractors at Martinez Physical Fitness Center, here, Sept. 26. Though the performance counted towards mandatory training requirements, unlike typical training sessions filled with PowerPoint slides and statistics, McGrenahan shares his own experiences with drugs and alcohol, losing a sibling to suicide and overcoming addiction with a comedy twist.
Concluding the comedy show, McGrenahan met with audience members and signed copies of a book he contributed to, "I Killed: True Stories of the Road from America's Top Comics" and comedy CDs.
