USMC UH-1Y Venom helicopter flies into Landing Zone Kiwi, Okinawa, Japan

LANDING ZONE KIWI, OKINAWA, Japan (April 20, 2021) - A UH-1Y Venom helicopter, with 1st Marine Air Wing, flies in Marines with Ordnance Maintenance Company (OMC), 3d Maintenance Battalion, 3d Marine Logistics Group (MLG) into Landing Zone Kiwi, Okinawa, Japan, April 20, 2021. OMC Marines regularly conduct maintenance in field settings and terrain to maintain tactical efficiency and the ability to provide support in austere environments. 3d MLG, based out of Okinawa, Japan, is a forward deployed combat unit that serves as III Marine Expeditionary Force’s comprehensive logistics and combat service support backbone for operations throughout the Indo-Pacific area of responsibility.
