On Watch in the Western Pacific

EAST CHINA SEA (Aug. 27, 2014) - Yeoman 3rd Class Dakota Hillman, from Baltimore, looks for surface contacts on the bridge wing of the amphibious dock landing ship USS Germantown (LSD 42) as the ship returns to Commander Fleet Activities Sasebo following the underway portion of an inspection from the Navy's board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV). INSURV inspections occur every five years to insure mission readiness. Germantown is forward-deployed and currently underway in the U.S. 7th Fleet area or responsibility.
