Lac de Sainte Crox
(477 m)
In the (apparently) last week of this summer, we did a five-day motorcycle tour from Frankfurt am Main - through the Great Alps - to the South of France and back. However thrilling it is to do a few thousand kilometers in the seat of a motorcycle, it also is terribly uncomfortable... Every evening, after another hot day in the seat, I used to be utterly happy to slowly slide down onto the pavement, gather my things and look for a payable hotel to take a shower and spend the night in. However, nothing could beat the feeling when we would start the machines the next morning and ride into the still chilly day, expecting to come across a new dose of views more incredible than anything we had ever seen before. Obviously, the photographs don't do enough justice to these views but I just couldn't resist :-)
