This is a local butterfly of southern Europe with tendencies to migrate northwards. It is very closely similar to the Berger's Clouded Yellow, C. alfacariensis.
HABITAT AND BIOLOGY. Meadows and forest edges up to 2,700 m a.s.l. in the forest and forest-steppe zones. Flight period: April-September in two to three generations... (In Romania, certainly, flying to November, during favourable years!!!)
