subfamily - COLIADINAE

 

A notable migrant which reaches far into Northern Europe during favourable years. In about 5% of the population the female takes a pale form, f. helice, which can be confused with Berger's clouded yellow, Colias alfacariensis and the Pale clouded yellow, Colias hyale. ( In Romania, certainly, flying to November, during favourable years!!!)

Photographed in the area Piatra Craiului, Brasov, Ro. Piatra Craiului is river located along the Barsa where one of my favorite walking places near Brasov.Collection of my pictures taken during the current butterfly season . All are wild butterflies taken in their natural habitat.

 

I am happy that we were able see and photograph all three species butterflies Clouded yellow : - Colias CROCEA; Colias HYALE; Colias ALFACARIENSIS!!!
