Memories of a dancer

Spinning a gear from an old clock was a common pastime when I should have been studying at school. On a level surface the gear would elegantly wander about, precessing to any applied movement like a well trained dancer.

This composite shot is made up of five long exposures of the gear spinning and one of it stationary.
