It's cold but we'll be freezin' in style,
So Solo has convinced me that she is indeed a genius of a dog. She is absolutely the most easiest trained dog I've ever owned. Although I will have to say that she knows so strictly the commands now because I began seriously training her when she was 3 months old, and as most everyone knows - start training asap! Training a dog as a puppy is so beneficial because that is the stage in which they'll be absorbing the most. Their brains as puppies are literally like sponges soaking up knowledge!
I have a terrific time training this girl. :] She not only comprehends hand signals with ease, but she can also comprehend English words without me moving at all. Pit Bulls have been known to excel in sports such as obedience and agility, and she's proven that statement correct! I already have faith that we have an extremely high chance of taking home the Championship for obedience this summer in the Jackson County dog show. I remember distinctly only one dog in my age group that could understand a handful of obedience commands in just words, and that dog is actually a golden retriever. Very beautiful dog too, might I add.
So exciting trick of the week: I began teaching Solo the "finish" command. (Where the dog sits directly in front of you, then swings around behind you and comes to sit directly at your left side in the heeling position). We went from me leading her with a treat all the way behind me and then telling her to "sit" beside me when she got there. I now recall her to sit in front of me, and without moving a muscle, say "finish", and she immediately swings around me and comes to sit at my left. I'm very proud of my little (well, not as little as she used to be a few months ago, haha) girl. :]
