Bridal Veil Falls near Highlands, Macon County, North Carolina is a little over 2 miles north of the town. Located in the Nantahala National Forest, the falls is roughly 60 feet high (despite the 45' height given in Wikipedia). At one time you could drive behind the falls; now you can only do it by foot. The falls splashes onto rocks where the water drains off . The visual effect is fascinating, depicted in images 6 through 11 in this series.
