The KalFor project has a clear-eyed approach to forest conservation. Approaching the situation holistically, the project team has been able to see the broader context – and see the forest for the trees. That’s why the project team has supported culture preservation, biodiversity preservation, community livelihoods and economic development simultaneously. Through this support, they are proving that truly sustainable livelihoods are possible, that conditions exist where people and planet can thrive, and by showcasing how maintaining the forest can also be economically beneficial for the community.
