Worrilow Awards

The Distinguished Alumni and Worrilow Awards started off with an award ceremony with a lunch. Then the awardees and their families went on a tour of the farm with Scott Hopkins, Farm Superintendent. Craig Clifford (nominated by: Mark Parcells), Tom Fretz (nominated by: Bob Lyons), and Mary Ellen Setting (nominated by: Jacob Bowman) received Distinguished Alumni Awards, James Baxter IV (nominated by Mark Isaacs and James Atkins) received the Distinguished Young Alumni Award, and Erica Spackman (nominated by: Jack Rosenberger) received the George M. Worrilow Award.

Distinguished Alumni Awards:

Craig Clifford ANFS (dark gray suit, blue shirt, blue paisley tie) – Director of Clinical Research, Medical Oncology, at Hope Veterinary Specialists | Nominator: Mark Parcells (Blue and red striped tie, glasses)

Tom Fretz PLSC (older guy, bald head, black jacket, red tie) – Dean Emeritus, University of Maryland | Nominator: Bob Lyons (navy and yellow striped tie, beard, and glasses)

Mary Ellen Setting ENWE (red dress, blonde hair) – Deputy Secretary of Agriculture at the Maryland Department of Agriculture | Nominator: Jacob Bowman (blue shirt, yellow tie, glasses)

 

Distinguished Young Alumni:

James H. Baxter, IV AGNR (brown suit, blue pinstripe shirt, blue tie) – President and Manager of Baxter Farms, Inc. | Nominators: Mark Isaacs (gray suit, blue shirt, beard) and James Atkins (darker blue shirt)

 

George M. Worrilow Award:

Erica Spackman ANFS (brown curly hair, colorful scarf) – Microbiologist, USDA, Agricultural Research Service, in Athens, GA | Nominator: Jack Rosenberger representing Worrilow Committee (older, white hair, blue pinstripe shirt, navy tie, glasses)
