Orange-crowned NOMO !

This image illustrates how birds create their own special "Orange Crowns" at the Desert Garden in the Huntington Library in San Marino, CA. As you can see the pollen-laden stamens create the "crowns" as the birds place their heads deep into the flowers.

 

These "crowns" are not limited to Northern Mockingbirds - as the subsequent images illustrate.
