Located at the heart of the Baščaršija district, the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque (often referred to as Begova Mosque) is one of the finest examples remaining in Sarajevo of Ottoman architecture. It is named the governor of Bosnia who financed its construction back in the 16th century (alongside many other important buildings in the historic old town).
