Opossum Creek Falls
I've hiked this twice, now, and I still haven't gotten what I know is there. Great falls, annoying hike out, which I guess I'll endure yet again. Maybe in the spring...
Opossum Creek Falls is located about 1.5 miles from Turkey Ridge Road (FSR 755) from a trailhead located near FSR 755F. Going in isn't so bad, coming out is uphill for the first half of the hike. When the trail "ends" at the Chatooga River, bear left, and you'll see it continue up a creek a little. About a quarter of a mile, cross a little creek, and you'll hear the falls. It's definitely worth the hike at least once.
Take 76 from Westminster toward the Georgia Border, left on Damascus Church Road, right on Batlle-something road, right again on Turkey Ridge Road (FSR 755). If you use a Garmin GPS system, it will errantly advise you to turn right on a closed road about a half mile before the real Turkey Ridge Road.
