501 117 waits to leave from Broad Street

The effect of the acid in carriage washers is well evident on the BR blue example on the left as the evening rush hour from the City comes to an end judging by the complete lack of passengers bar the one heading for the Richmond service. The short overall roof was courtesy of the damage inflicted during WW2 bombing and it was cut back in 1967.
