T stock arrives at Farringdon bound for Aldgate

In 1923 the Metropolitan Railway got Metropolitan Vickers to add traction equipment and cabs to some loco hauled stock to form motor coaches and following a successful conversion the Met ordered from BRCW what came to be T stock, first delivered in 1927 for Watford Line services. A second batch was delivered in 1930 and a final tranche three years later, for use on Amersham and Chesham branch services. Still at work in the early 1960s they were ousted by arrival of the new 'A' stock.
