D1000 'Western Enterprise' stabled at Ranelagh Bridge
Attempting to purchase a colour slide with copyright of D1000 while wearing Desert Sand colours has been a very frustrating task as they have tended to go for very silly money so I was quite pleasantly surprised when I managed to acquire this without paying a king's ransom. It is also quite unusual in showing the whole of the 1930s Great Western signalbox in ARP style which not only controlled the access to and from the stabling point but also the exit from Paddington, fringing with Paddington Arrival & Departure boxes and Lord Hills Bridge box. The rather cleaner maroon example behind illustrates why the Desert Sand livery was never replicated!
