Taynton, Gloucestershire, St Laurence
A Church of England church with a rare original building date of 1647. Its predecessor was destroyed in 1643 by Royalist forces to stop it becoming a Cromwellian stronghold. (It is on top of a small ridge.)
Parliament ordered its rebuilding in 1647.
I was disappointed to find Victorian pews but it was "restored" in 1864 and the chancel added in 1894.
