Royal Oak Planting [63]

On Saturday 25th February 2012 Etchingham residents gathered in the croft Field to plant trees to create a Jubilee wood, to commemorate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

The following Saturday, 3rd March, a small group of village residents, the village Improvements Committee, Parish Councillors and County Councillor gathered to witness the planting of the Royal Oak, a sapling grown from seed gathered from a Royal estate.

The planting was carried out by the Lord Lieutenant of East Sussex, Peter Field, and MP Gregory Barker.
