Rooster Love - designed and folded by me, inspired by Melina's designs and partly using techniques learned by her.
Paper: ca. 20cm of elephant hide with a grid of 32, painted after folding.
The original goal was to create a flat tessellation-like rooster, completely in melina's style, but i noticed fast, that the comb would consume a lot of paper, the way i planed it. I still decided to test the rest of the face, but wasn't pleased as the comb is one of the most important features. So i just put the comb on top - in a different way, which doesn't consume paper, but puts the model in 3d. Consequently, i shaped all the head in 3d and coloured it, to highlight the features.
