Ebba Thomsen in Et kaerlighesdoffer (1914)

Spanish minicard, no. 6. Ebba Thomsen and Nicolai Johannsen in Et kaerlighedsoffer/I will repay (Robert Dinesen, 1914), released in Spain as El infierno del amor.

When governor Prince Ivan Isahoff (Thorkild Roose) arrests Professor Andrew Bobileff (Frederick Jacobsen) for presumed conspiracy against the state, the professor's daughter Anja (Thomsen) swears revenge. When Anja realizes she is also on the list, she flees and ends up at... the estate of the governor. She wants to shoot him, but is held back by him upholding his - innocent - child. Anja changes identity and becomes a stage actress at the royal theater and recites with star actor Jean Fort (Nicolai Johannsen), also falling in love with him. When she hears her father has died in prison, her drive for revenge increases: the governor must die too. She will perform at the governor's house and kill him. During the party at the governor's she invites him to the terrace, but the man, alarmed about possible attacks, dresses up Jean Fort as himself. Anja unknowingly stabs her beloved to death. Desperately, Anja jumps off the balcony, and dies.

Ebba Thomsen (3 May 1887 – 18 December 1973) was a Danish actress during the golden era of silent films in Denmark. Thomsen was best known for her roles as the elegant leading lady opposite the Danish matinee idol Valdemar Psilander.
