Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Sarah Michelle Gellar

Australian postcard by Avant Card, no. 11301, 2006. This card was published to promote Scifi.tv.com.au.

Yes, I know, Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997–2003) is not really vintage TV, but to us it's a classic. We can't help it: we have a soft spot for high school series. In the past we loved the British comedy series Please Sir! (1968-1971) (sadly no postcards), years later we discovered the Australian series Heartbreak High (1994–1999) and recently I finally got totally hooked on Veronica Mars (2004–2007). I saw Buffy the Vampire Slayer on DVD, thanks to Truus, and it gave me many sleepless nights, because I could not stop watching. Joss Whedon created the series which easily surpassed the mediocre film on which it was based.Sarah Michelle Gellar is great as Buffy Summers, the high school girl who hunts vampires, demons, and the forces of darkness. And in between she has to deal with trouble at home, teachers and the hunky vampire boyfriends Spike (James Marsters) and Angel (David Boreanaz). Happily she has some help from her a bit weird friends, played by Nicholas Brendon and Alyson Hannigan.
