Cratered

A powerful explosion from pressure build-up of hot magma and ground water may have caused the Ubehebe Crater as recently as 300 years ago. The 600 foot deep and half mile wide hole that remains has begun the process of erosion, noticeable on the far wall's colorful sandstone.
