Constructed Chaos 4

Here's my latest Constructed Chaos study. Normally, I move pretty quickly on these, but this one took me down the rabbit hole last night.

These studies are a bit of an optical illusion. When standing/photographing from the front, they appear flat, but that changes as soon as you step to either side. Each side then becomes it's own abstract world. The "eye" of this piece wasn't planned at the start, it came about when I discovered the gray scrap of card stock that had the paint already blotched on. Further adding to the organic method that these portraits are assembled.

Each time I approach my easel these days, I never know exactly what's about to happen. Sometimes this leads to disaster, but those disasters teach me what not to do next time. Although each study, no matter what the results are, confirms that I'm finally stripping away the obvious and fully illustrating the chaos within.
