Sentinel Bridge - Half Dome
Alternate title: Why We Wade
Hanging out along the south side of the Merced River near Sentinel Bridge, most, if not all, views of Half Dome are blocked by trees, I took a few images of the bridge but thought to myself, "If I was standing in the river I could probably get great shots". After thinking it about it for a few seconds I decided to go for it but knowing all the while the water was going to be very cold. I thought I would walk out, get a few quick shots and get back out.... Wrong! I waded out a few feet looking for a comp and quickly set up only to realize my wading had disturbed the reflection. DOH! I tired to wait for the water to calm down but it was just too cold and my feet started to sting. I came back out leaving my camera set up in the river and waited for the water to calm. Once it did I figured I could walk out to the cam and have a few seconds to get off some shots, which is all I got, 6 shots. The water in the viewfinder was quickly disturbed again and I was done. Hip waders next time!
