This is an 83 shot panorama of the Milky Way rising above a natural pool at Beringbooding Rock, 4 hours north east of Perth in Western Australia.
I stood directly at the foot of the pool in order to maximise the amount of star reflections as well as to exaggerate the perspective of the immediate foreground, including the pool. The reflections you see here are out of focus due to the immediate foreground being the object of the focus. I took another series of images where the star reflections were in focus but I preferred this version as it seems a bit more dramatic.
Again I have featured myself in one of my panoramas and it may seem like I am standing in a bit of a precarious spot but it was not very close to the edge, so perfectly safe!
Oh, and I am using a new star tracker for this panorama, the Nomad Move Shoot Move...it is taking a bit of getting used to :)
