Summer Milky Way at North Dandalup Dam, Western Australia
Nikon d5500

Foreground: 26 x 13 seconds
Sky: 46 x 25 seconds
iOptron SkyTracker
Hoya Red Intensifier filter
This is a 72 shot panorama of the Crux/Carina region of the Milky Way as it rises above North Dandalup Dam, about an hour south of Perth in Western Australia.
The dam waters were unusually still on this night so I got some nice reflections and as always at this location I got some two tone colouring of the sky thanks (I think) to the different type of lighting used - sodium on the right and LED on the left (mining operation) as well as the Hoya filter adding some funkiness to the reds.
The Carina Nebula is the large pink coloured nebular in the Milky Way band and just below it is the dark CoalSack Nebula with the Crux constellation to the immediate left of it, more commonly referred to as The Southern Cross in these parts.
