Summer Milky Way - North Dandalup Dam, Western Australia
Nikon d5500
50mm + Hoya Red Intensifier Filter
f/2.8
ISO 4000
Sky - 37 x 30 seconds
Foreground - 22 x 13 seconds
iOptron SkyTracker
Another one taken over the summer during the Milky Way off season :)
This is a 59 image panorama of the Milky Way rising perpendicular to the horizon at North Dandalup Dam about an hour's drive from my home in Perth, Western Australia. The Carina Nebula is prominent just above centre in the image with the Magellanic Clouds on the right edge. The Hoya Red Intensifier filter helps with light pollution and to highlight H-Alpha nebulae but also has the effect of sometimes adding a red/pink hue which you can see in the light pollution here.
