Seppelt Family Mausoleum
Visiting the Seppelt Family Mausoleum & Gardens in the Barossa Valley:
Travel to the beautiful Barossa Valley in South Australia and on a hilltop among the vines you will find the historic Seppelt Family Mausoleum.
Overlooking what is now known as Seppeltsfield, the Mausoleum was completed in 1927 and several members of the Seppelt family are believed to be interred there.
The first members of the Seppelt family migrated to Australia in 1849 and quickly established themselves in the Barossa Valley as premium wine-makers, eventually turning Seppeltsfield into the country’s largest winery.
The Mausoleum and its lovely gardens are well worth a visit if coming to the Barossa Valley. Take a moment or two to recognise what a great contribution migrants have made to Australia. Snap some stunning photos and stop at a winery or three and taste some of the finest wines in the world.
