So here's the thing. I needed some fruit to fulfil a couple of challenges (see above) but it had to be of a colour that would look good with black (also see above).
There needed to be more than one (see above - again) and it needed to be small-ish in size to fit into my black cast iron mortar. After walking around the fresh produce department of my favourite grocery store (armed with my black mortar) I settled on the lemons. AND they were on sale. yippie. Now I have a plethora of lemons. It's winter. Who wants lemonade in winter?
