memories travelling musicians
Travelling as a family -- 5 kids within 6 years...we travelled through the USA custom harvesting for 3 months of the year - always lots of music accompanying these journeys south. People used to think it was adorable to see 5 kids in red ginham matching outfits, singing and playing music with out dad for special occassions, church or community events. I was willing, but did not have a choice.
As I was thinking back to these memories, I recalled a more recent trip with my sister (mando) and partner, Rod (guitar), to play music for a friend's wedding. How different these choices are as adults.
My youngest sister gave me her mandolin when I mentioned I might like to learn to play some day. This speaks volumes to me of her love and support, as she quietly holds a place for me.
