Variable Checkerspot caterpillar on Bush Monkeyflower

Here is another caterpillar of a Variable Checkerspot (Euphydryas chalcedona) butterfly on Southern Bush Monkeyflower (Diplacus longiflorus) in the woods today. It is curled in up an old boat-life seed capsule of the plant. I've found many different kinds of insects and spiders in these old seed capsules, try a search of my photos.
