Triangle Web Spider with its prey
Here is another shot of the remarkable Triangle Web Spider (Hyptiotes gertschi, Uloboridae) in my [Previous] photo. It's finished wrapping its prey now and is hanging off a dead leaf. It is still holding onto its line with its bottommost leg, but you can barely see it. These are cribellate spiders, and you can see the spider's cribellum near its rear end, see this photo for some discussion. I did have a beam on sunlight filtered through the oak trees for this photo. (San Marcos Pass, 5 December 2020)
