Nest of oak leaves held together with webbing
Here are two leaves of Coast Live Oak (Quercus agrifolia, Fagaceae) joined together by webbing to make a shelter. I'm not sure if this is the work of a spider or a caterpillar, but the webbing looks more substantial than usual. I'll bet the critter is inside there, but I didn't want to tear its work apart to discover what it is. Happy Web Webnesday! (San Marcos Pass, 22 March 2020)
