Cribellate spider webbing on a native grass

I believe this is cribellate spider webbing on a seed-bearing stem of a native grass, probably Small-flowered Melic (Melica imperfecta, Poaceae). The webbing might be the work of a cribellate species of Mesh Web Weaver in the family Dictynidae. The webbing is frizzy and comprised of very fine threads that are spun into a strand like hand-spun wool or chenille yarn, different from ordinary spider webbing. I have another photo of similar webbing here. There's more info at Wikipedia and a nice article in The Atlantic. Happy Web Webnesday! (San Marcos Pass, 14 July 2019)
