Isolation Platform

Massive isolation platform for my turntable cabinet. Designed to reduce the effect of external vibrations. Constructed with wood framing, hardboard top and bottom panels and filled with sand for mass.

 

This photo shows the sand in the frame. The sand was packed, then scraped to a level flush with the frame. The holes in the frame at right are so that more sand can be added if there is significant compaction due to vibrations.
