Alfa Romeo launched the new 2000 Series in 1971 as a continuance of the late 1750 model. The new 2000 Berlina featured a redesigned grille - as compared to the 1750 - and was fitted with a 1962cc engine delivering 130 hp and reaching a top speed of 200 km/h. The new model was also equipped with a mechanical fuel injection (US market only) and a 5-speed manual gearbox. This model was discontinued in 1977.
