Millennium Development Goals 5
Nine out of ten countries with the worst sexual and reproductive health outcomes face an ongoing humanitarian crisis. Natual disasters and conflicts can roll back years of hard won development progress. This is the case for Côte d'Ivoire, whose pre-conflict MDG 5 indicators were as follows:
- Maternal Mortality Ratio (maternal deaths per 100,000 live births), UN estimate: 470
- Births attended by skilled health personnel (percent): 56.8
- Contraceptive Prevalence Rate (percent): 12.9
- Adolescent Fertility Rate (births per 1,000 women ages 15–19): 130
- Antenatal care with health personnel (percent): 84.8
- Unmet need for family planning (percent): 29.0
