(CH) Jegenstorf - Intertours 492 - 08.08.2022

Anticipating the introduction of an all-day 15-minute frequency on the meter-gauge RE train from Bern to Solothurn, engineering works were required to double-track and renovate most of the section between the stations of Jegenstorf and Lohn-Lüterkofen.

 

As a consequence, buses were replacing trains on the aforementioned section, with most vehicles being provided by the specialized bus rental company Intertours, along with a couple of RBS (the railway operator)’s own vehicles.

 

Pictured above is one of Intertours’ few brand-new buses, this one dating from 2021. With the exception of the now-retired ex-Vienna Citaro C2 G, all Intertours buses are completely white in order to maintain a neutral and quickly customizable image depending on which services are provided.
