Restored Beauty

The JC Davis steam locomotive number 600 was badly damaged when a large portion of the B&O Railroad Museum's roof collapsed during a snowstorm in 2003. It was just rolled out of the restoration shops after an extensive restoration and was unveiled Friday, September 4th this year.

It is a cosmetic restoration but it sure looks like it's ready to be fired up and ran again. I got to talk to the main man in charge of the lumber work on the cab, which needed a complete rebuild. He said it was quite difficult as they didn't have extensive plans for how the original cab was built. It definitely looks like they knew what they were doing.
