EVWR 3840 MVL1 Mt Vernon IN 03 Nov 2013

Headed north at around 5:30 on this morning hoping to find an EB NS to chase through the fall color. After about 4 and a half hours, nothing. No 319, no 167, no coal trains... nothing. I decided to give up on the class 1 crap and go where the action is: Evansville Western.

As usual, they didn't disappoint. Heard a Sugar Camp coal train returning to Evansville on the way there, and MVL was putting its train together in Mt Vernon to go to Evansville. Upon talking to the dispatcher, MVL was advised to take the siding at Nations to meet HAD2 going to Southwind. Bagged 'em both (both were ALL GREEN too). About the time HAD was clearing the main, SS1, the SVTX powered Sitran train requested permission on the Vectren lead to get to the main and go north. Chased that one all the way to Sugar Camp.

An unproductive morning turned in to a great afternoon, thanks to EVWR.
