R0432c RD4312 farm bridge Apr-May1990
1960/08.R432c RD4312. Following the closure of the branch line from Watford to Rickmansworth Church Street, the trackbed was turned into a foot and cycle path called the Ebury Way.
The branch line had been crossed by two bridges leading to a farm, and one of these was demolished when the railway was lifted. (See the previous pictures.) However, rather than demolish the second bridge, they buried it!
This picture, taken from the bridge prior to the removal of the sides, was taken by Lynda Bullock in April or May, 1990.
The Ebury Way foot / cycle path rises and makes a diversion at this point as the original route of the trackbed is no longer passable.
Lynda has kindly sent me the picture for inclusion here; more of her splendid pictures can be seen on her Flickr site : www.flickr-.com/photos/just1snap/
