RD25807vs. The Simplex departing fromHarbour Station.

RD25807vs. 100 years ago, on the 1st June, 1923, the 2 foot gauge Welsh Highland Railway reached Portmadoc (now Porthmadog) and joined up with the Festiniog Railway (spelt with only one F in those days) at the Harbour Station. The present day Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways organisation celebrated this event with a gala 100 years later over the weekend 23rd to 25th June, 2023.

The first train of the gala was a re-run of the pre-opening inspection train using the Motor Rail Simplex 4-wheel petrol tractor and two carriages. This is the train departing from Porthmadog Harbour Station and crossing Pont Britannia (Britannia Bridge).
