RD13350. Benidorm Station c.1969.
RD13350. A single unit diesel railcar at Benidorm on the metre gauge line that runs between Alicante and Dénia on Spain's Costa Blanca.
I found this picture when going through some old boxes of photographs during a loft clear out and, as far as I can remember, it was given to me by my uncle after a family holiday in nearby Calpe c.1969. In the background can be seen the 1930s vintage carriages of the 'Limón Expres', a tourist train that, sadly, no longer runs.
Nowadays, the line between Alicante and Benidorm is electrified and the trains are now modern trams. Beyond Benidorm, however, the line is still diesel worked and passengers wishing to continue on to Calpe and Dénia must change at Benidorm.
