Taken on our trip to the Great Wall of China. We decided to go to a less touristy section of the Wall, namely Jinshanling and then walk to Simatai. On our way there it started to snow for the first time that year which meant that it took 4 hours to get there from Beijing instead of just 3. We only just made it with our guide almost deciding a few times to head back. This meant that our group of 7 were the only people on that section of the Wall all day - we literally saw no-one else! It was a 9km walk and quite hard because it was constantly up and down and some sections of the Wall were in quite bad state of repair. Actually at Jinshanling and Simatai the Wall was fully restored but the further away from each end you were the more decrepid it became - which gave it lots more character! We were knackered by the end!
