Fishing Hole

This is a transformed photograph. Starting with an underpainted "canvas", I worked with the History Paint Brush (in CS4) to start putting back some content. The challenge for me is finding the right brush with the right settings to get the effect I am looking for. I put in additional detail and form with the Smudge tool and standard paint brushes. And then, of course, I finished it off with textures.
